The publication 0/ Divided/Defined, Weights, Measures, and Emotional Geometry, will be launched at Formats bookstore in Montreal Wednesday September 25th from 5-7. With this book, Dazibao rewards Jim Verburg, recipient of the Dazibao Prize, conferred during the 2011 edition of the Mois de la Photo à Montréal (guest curator: Anne-Marie Ninacs) and for which the Galerie B-312 presented the exhibition One and Two. The recipient of the Dazibao Prize is given the opportunity to produce a book as part of Dazibao’s series Les portables. More information here.

FALL 2011

The exhibit One and Two just won the Dazibao Prize at the 12th edition of Le Mois de la Photo à Montréal. The jury prize awards the recipient the opportunity to produce a book as part of Dazibao’s series Les portables.

September 9 – October 8
Jim will be presenting new work in his solo exhibition One and Two, part of the 12th edition of Le Mois de la Photo à Montréal. The show opens September 9th at Galerie B-312. The opening reception take place on September 9th at 5pm. For more information about the exhibition click here.

Jim has recently been awarded a Research and Creation Grant for Media Artists from the Canada Council for the Arts. He will be working on a new series of short films over the next eight months.

Jim will be a part of a thematic visual arts residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts in Banff Alberta. The residency will be lead by London-based painter Silke Otto-Knapp, and will include art critic and curator Jan Verwoert as the faculty member.
